Lemoore Parks and Recreation

Children's Community choir

A Children's Community Choir for kindergarten through eighth grade will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Civic Auditorium. Cost is $15 per child, per month.

Drama camp

Lemoore High School will host a drama camp from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. beginning, Monday, Jan. 5 through Friday, Jan. 9, at Lemoore High School, room 115. Cost is $25 per person.
Beginning Digital photography

Brent Russell Paull will instruct a beginning Digital Photography class from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Civic Auditorium. The fee is $25 for the two hour seminar and will teach students how to use their digital cameras and how to upload and edit their pictures on the computer. Minimum of six participants are required.

Intermediate Digital photography

Brent Russell Paull will instruct an intermediate Digital Photography Class from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Civic Auditorium. Cost is $25 for the two hour seminar and will continue on from the beginning class by going over how to enhance photos with computer software. Minimum of six participants are required.

Women's self-defense

A Women's Self Defense class will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Cinnamon Municipal Complex, 711 W. Cinnamon Drive. The class will be taught by martial arts instructor Michael Constantine. Fee is $25.

Snow Day

The city of Lemoore and city of Hanford Recreation departments invite the public for a Holiday trip to Sierra Summit at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19. This event is for children grades fifth through twelfth. The cost is $27 and $35 after Jan. 12. Priority registration for those that participated in Lemoore or Hanford's Dry Land Ski School. For those who were unable to participate in these events, please register anytime after Monday, Jan. 5.

Adult co-ed volleyball

Adult co-ed volleyball will be held Thursday evenings at Liberty Middle School Gym beginning Jan. 15. Game times will be 7 and 8 p.m. The cost is $160 per team and each team will be guaranteed 8 games. This is 6 on 6 play with a maximum of 20 people per roster.

Zumba dance class

A Zumba dance based program, which burns calories fast, will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Civic Auditorium beginning Jan. 6. Cost is $45 per month or three months for $120. Instructor is Christina Torre. Class is taught in English and Spanish. Minimum of 10 participants required.

New martial arts class

A new self-defense/martial arts class will be instructed by Michael Constantine from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, at the Civic Auditorium beginning in January. Class fee is $25 per month. All ages are invited to participate.

Boxing, new times

Beginning boxing instruction is open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Kindergarten through second grade will box on Mondays, third through fifth grade on Tuesdays, and sixth through eighth grade on Wednesdays. Time for all classes is 5 to 6 p.m..

The boxing class is an ongoing program and new children can register and begin at the first of each month. Cost is $25 per month or $60 for three months.

Pee Wee Basketball, date change

Pee Wee Basketball is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. starting Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Cinnamon Municipal Complex. The clinic will meet four consecutive Tuesdays. The cost is $15 per child. The clinic is for children in kindergarten and first grade.

Little Dribblers basketball, new date

Little Dribblers basketball is scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. starting Jan. 13, at the Cinnamon Municipal Complex. The clinic will meet four consecutive Tuesdays. The class is for children 3 and 4 years old. Cost is $15.

Lemoore Farmboyz wrestling

Kent Olsen and West Hills College Wrestlers will be giving wrestling instructions from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning in January.

Training will be held at the Cinnamon Municipal Complex, 711 W. Cinnamon Drive. The cost is $15 per month or 3 months for $30. Participants must join USA Wrestling in order to take part in competitions, the fee is $30 per year. Wrestlers must be 12 years of age or older.

Girls Night In!

Fourth through sixth grade girls are invited to spend the night at the Teen Center beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8. They must be picked up at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9.

Admission fee is $25, which includes pizza, snacks and breakfast the next morning. Organized activities are planned throughout the evening. Girls should bring a sleeping bag, pajamas and pillow.

Paso Robles Wine trip

Join the Recreation department for a wine tasting trip to three wineries in Paso Robles March 28. A fee of $65 will include a continental breakfast, charter bus ride, lunch and wine tasting in the Eberlee Caves and stops at two other wineries. Certificates are available at the Recreation office.

Adult basketball

Adult basketball teams are starting to form for late February. This is a competitive league and games will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Lemoore High School. The cost is $385 per team and there will be a tournament at the end of league play.

BMX Track

The Lemoore BMX track is open and practice is held on Sunday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is a $35 fee to become a registered BMX member. Call 593-3417 for more details.

Turbo kick

Turbo Kick classes are offered at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday at the Civic Auditorium. Cost is $35 per month or three months for $75.

Pee Wee fitness

Pee Wee Fitness is for pre-school children 2 years old and older. The group will meet at the Lemoore Civic Auditorium from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays. The group allows children to interact with other children and to participate in structured physical fitness activities such as crawling through tunnels, hopscotch and relay races. Cost for the program is $15 per month.

Teen Center Holiday hours

The Lemoore Teen Center is open to children in fifth through twelfth grades. Hours while school is in session are 12 to 5 p.m. Mondays and Friday, Dec. 22 through Jan. 9. Center will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.

Pool, Foosball and table tennis are available, along with numerous video games, including Rock Band.

Facilities for Rent

Need a place to hold a special event? Check with the Lemoore Recreation Department, which offers rental of the Civic Auditorium, The Veteran's Hall and the Teen Center. These facilities are great for birthday parties, wedding receptions, family reunions or any special occasion.

Park Areas for Rent

The Lemoore Heritage Park Pavilion, City Park Gazebo and some BBQ areas are available for reservations. Reservations are required one week prior to the event. The cost for Heritage Park Pavilion is $25 per section or the entire pavilion for $75. City Park Gazebo and BBQ areas are $25 each.
